Responsibilities of the position

Placed under the responsibility of IFED and in close collaboration with FEDEC, the EPDS will have to maintain the relations with the partners of the administrations (MINEPDED, MINFOF, MINTOUL, etc.), the financial partners (World Bank, KFW, etc.), national and international NGOs, managers and local populations of the parks concerned. He will have to develop projects in close collaboration with FEDEC.

Responsabilities

  • Carry out diagnostic studies of the priority needs of the parks concerned and their peripheral areas;
  • Conduct a socio-economic analysis of the populations living near the parks concerned in order to take into account their needs in development projects;
  • Develop together with the hierarchy the list of priority projects as well as a chronogram of achievement;
  • Draft projects to support the management of the biological and tourist heritage of these parks (Campo Ma’an, Mbam Djerem, Deng Deng and Vallée du Mbéré) and their peripheral areas;
  • Develop other projects or activities deemed necessary by the hierarchy (IFED and FEDEC);
  • Work closely with FEDEC Program Coordinator and report regularly to the hierarchy;
  • Keep confidential all documents made available by IFED, FEDEC and other partners.

Duration

One year with probation period of 3 months. Possibility of renewal of the contract according to the competence of the candidate and needs at the end of the contractual period.

Required Skills

  • Good professional experience (2 to 5 years minimum) in the negotiation of commercial agreements and the development of environmental projects;
  • Good experience in writing and managing development projects;
  • Good knowledge of the intervention zones and priority needs for the sustainable management of the human, biological and tourist heritage of the parks is an asset;
  • Excellent project writing skills;
  • Very good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of FEDEC and IFED activities is an asset;
  • Great attention to details, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative, with the ability to learn quickly;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to formulate and articulate contractual, technical and financial key points with partners.

Languages

French and English (spoken and written)

Diploma

DUT or BTS minimum in project development or any similar training
