Monitoring the hives in Niet\u00e9<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With the aim of improving the living conditions of communities living around Campo Ma’an National Park, FEDEC and the Granby Zoo began a beekeeping development project in 2018 to address human-wildlife conflicts. 2020 saw the expansion of apiaries in the Niet\u00e9 and Nkoadjap areas. Thirty-five hives were installed in four peripheral areas of the park: Mabiogo, Akak, Nkoadjap, and V15. More than ten beneficiaries received 1,000 honey plants to improve the bees’ environment and diversify their sources of income. Beekeeping training was provided to local communities. Beekeeping equipment was also renewed (outfits, smoker, blowtorches, boots, and gloves) and given to the beneficiaries. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
