The Ngoyang mixed home: a house of hope

Built on an area of almost one hectare, the Ngoyang mixed home was opened in 1994. The home is located 15 km from the town of Lolodorf. The home enables Bakola/Bagyeli children living in remote camps to attend the Ngoyang nursery and elementary school, and to live in the home close to their school.. The home's mission
  1. Childcare: The home is a living environment that welcomes children whose communities are far from schools and whose parents cannot afford to send them to school
  2. Education: it is intended to be a favorable environment for the acquisition of both academic and socio-cultural knowledge.
  3. Integration: by welcoming both Bantu and Bagyeli children, the home presents itself as a place of integration.
Life and organization at the Ngoyang home The home offers residents a climate favorable to their psychological and social development. The home has the capacity to accommodate approximately one hundred girls and boys aged 4 to 14 who attend the Ngoyang Public School. The children are enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade. During the week, boarders are housed and fed at the home. On weekends and during vacation periods, they return to their parents' home. The home's support team is composed of dedicated staff, including a boarding school teacher, a caretaker, a storekeeper, and two cooks. Under the supervision of a management committee, the boarding school teacher coordinates activities at the home of hope.
