A fresh breeze has blown into the Foundation’s Board of Directors with the arrival of Professor Bonaventure SONKE, who was co-opted during the 45th meeting held on December 17, 2020 in Yaoundé. A man of many hats, Professor SONKE heads the Biology Department at the École Normale Supérieure de Yaoundé I, and is associate researcher at the Missouri Botanical Garden (U.S.A.) as well as the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). A plant taxonomist, he has devoted a large part of his research to classifying the Rubiaceae family. Professor SONKE is also author of a book on the vegetation of Dja East Cameroon entitled Forêts de la Réserve du Dja (Cameroun) and co-author of numerous works that identify tropical forest plants and describe more than 60 new species for science, in addition to numerous other publications.
