In the area of citizenship, FEDEC is working to reduce the number of land conflicts between the Bakola/Bagyeli and their neighbors, and to ensure that they are better integrated into civic life. This involves creating well-defined village terroirs of their own, as well as a greater understanding of their rights and duties. To achieve this, more activities are organized with the local population:
  • Raise awareness and support the Bakola/Bagyeli in declaring births and issuing national identity cards and marriage certificates..
  • Help people identify and set up a filing system for important documents.
  • Informing local authorities about land issues.
  • Facilitate dialogue between Bakola/Bagyeli and their neighbors.
  • Promoting local culture and know-how.
