As part of the implementation of the project “Support for the integration of the IMET evaluation tool (Integrated Management Effectiveness Tool) in the management of the Mbam and Djerem National Park”, the evaluation session of the activities of the Mbam and Djerem National Park management plan with the IMET tool was held from November 17 to 18, 2021 in the conference room of the Bien-être hotel in the town of Tibati in Cameroon.
Organized by FEDEC and financed by BIOPAMA, this activity consisted of supporting the process of revising the development plan of the Mbam and Djerem National Park by identifying priority axes and actions which will be integrated into the matrix of activities of the programmatic framework of said plan.
Specifically, it was a question of: completing the IMET form by adopting an inclusive and participatory approach of the actors involved on the site and producing a report on the effectiveness of the management of the Mbam and Djerem National Park on the one hand and on the other hand, carrying out an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses observed in the implementation of the activities of the previous five-year plan (2016-2021).
The workshop brought together around thirty participants representing the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife, local and indigenous populations and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS).
